I think data collection and reporting can be great tools for teachers. They can be used by the students in a math or research based psych/science class in order to gather data and see how it works all laid out on Excel. This method would work best for upperclassmen in high school and college courses. It can also be used by the teachers themselves in order to gather data necessary for a school or classroom event. For example, if the teacher of an elementary level class needed to know what parents were bringing what snacks on which days, they could send out a survey for all the parents to fill out and then the teacher could see all the data laid out on an excel sheet for the best classroom organization. The flipped classroom is an interesting approach to learning. This method allows student to learn the materials at their own pace outside of the classroom and practice their newly learned skills in the classroom with their teacher and classmates.
